Waynewood's garden is in full swing! The first pumpkin has sprouted in the kindergarten progressive pumpkin patch, and we just purchased a load of soil for the garden. We're excited to see how our plants will thrive with this nourishing foundation!
Also, mark your calendars for our upcoming work days after school on April 20, May 18th, and June 8th. We'll be gathering to plant, w**d, and water the garden. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a novice, all are welcome!

What a great last day of school! We had an abundant harvest of lettuce, kale, radish, yellow squash, and Thai basil. Thank you Arcadia Farm for working with the kids to plant the veggies. We left some lettuce with the front office and gave some to Ms. Hohman, whose last day is today. Happy retirement Ms. Hohman!! The remaining produce was donated to Groveton Baptist Church for their Friday food distribution.

A big thank you to members Marjie Morris, John Morris, and Erica Christ (and Erica's family) for designing, amending, and planting the shade garden. Various shade-loving plants were installed, including Virginia Bluebells, Solomon's Seal, Lilly of the Valley, and several varieties of Hosta. All plants were generously donated by members of the community.
