💙💛 A Special Day for Benjamin Russell High School and Alexander City!

Today marks a special day for Benjamin Russell High School, Alexander City Schools, and the entire Alexander City community as we celebrate the official unveiling of Barbara H. Young Drive, the road leading to the new Benjamin Russell High School.

Mrs. Barbara H. Young has been a staple of the Alexander City community, dedicating many years of her life to serving others. Throughout her remarkable career of service, she has served as a high school physical education teacher, school principal, Alexander City councilmember, and Mayor of Alexander City—becoming the first woman to serve as mayor of Alexander City.

It is fitting that the road leading to the new Benjamin Russell High School bears the name of someone who has given so much to Alexander City. Mrs. Young's legacy reminds us that true leadership is found in serving others and investing in the community we call home.

Congratulations, Mrs. Barbara H. Young, on this well-deserved honor! 💙💛
