🏈 Spirit Sales are back! 🐾🧡

We’ll have Spirit Sales every home football game day this season, and we’re kicking things off this Thursday, 8/20!

Students can shop during drop-off before school starts. Items range from $1–$5 and it’s cash only! 💵

Send a few dollars with your VandaCat and let them stock up on some Bearcat spirit! 🧡🖤🐾

Good morning, Vandagriff Families! 🧡🖤

Our second week of school is off to a great start! We appreciate your patience as we continue working to make morning arrival and afternoon dismissal as quick and smooth as possible. We have a few important AFTERNOON DISMISSAL reminders that will help keep traffic moving:

🚗 Please use BOTH lanes until you reach the cones at the back of the school (yellow dots in the picture below). Please do not merge before the cones, as early merging causes the line to back up.

🚗 Once you reach the cones, please zipper merge. This means taking turns—one car from each lane. Please be kind and courteous to one another! Zipper merging helps everyone get into the correct spot so your student is ready to load when you come around the corner. Otherwise, students will not be at the correct spot.

🚗 Please have your CurbSmart placard hanging from your rear view mirror and clearly visible. If you do not have a CurbSmart placard, you will be asked to pull around to the front office so we can verify the appropriate person is picking up your student.

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, organized, and moving efficiently! We know it takes a little time to get into a new routine, and we truly appreciate your patience and cooperation. We’re getting better every day! 🐾🧡🖤

I'm sure you all saw the beautiful new mural by Lisa Carrington Voight Custom Art by Lisa at Meet the Teacher! Doesn't it just brighten up the hallway?! This week she put the finishing touches on our foyer and we couldn't love these upgrades more!

The first day of school is off to a GREAT start! 🎉

A huge thank you to all of our amazing helpers at drop-off this morning! From School Board Members Forrest Collins and Lynn Morgan to central office administrators, staff kids and our incredible student ambassadors, it was a true team effort!

What a great way to kick off another amazing year at Vanda! 🧡🐾

Good morning! We are so excited to welcome students back tomorrow! Please take a look at the short video for morning car rider drop off procedures. 🚗🚕🚙 Here are a few things to note that are not mentioned in the video:
❗️Traffic will be extremely heavy this week. Please be patient.
❗️If your child needs assistance, you MUST be in the right lane.
❗️The unloading zone is marked with an orange sign. For safety, you may only unload once you are in the "Drop Zone".
❗️Staff will blow a whistle to let you know that it is safe for students to exit the vehicle.
❗️In order to keep traffic moving, students should be ready to exit the vehicle as soon as the whistle blows.
❗️Please pull all the way forward and do not leave big gaps between cars.
❗️MOST IMPORTANTLY-please stay alert and keep phones put away in the car line. We want to keep our staff and students safe! (Plus, it's against the law .😉)

For pick up-parents must have their student number placards hanging from their mirror. It is very hard for our staff to see if you sit it on your dash or are holding it. Again, please always pull all the way forward and we will be sure your child gets to you. Thank you so much for your help!! We want nothing more than to get you all through the line quickly and keep student safety as our top priority!

It was a busy day and we didn't get a pic but we wanted to thank our wonderful AISD Vandagriff PTO for feeding our staff a tasty Olive Garden lunch today! We appreciated not having to worry about packing a lunch amid the back to school hustle and bustle! What a treat!
