What a GREAT first full week at AMS!

Our students are settling into routines, building relationships, and most importantly, getting after the learning!

It has been exciting to see students engaged in classrooms, asking questions, challenging their thinking, and growing each day. A huge thank you to our staff for creating classrooms where learning comes first!

One week down, and so much learning ahead!

The PTO is a great way to connect with our school community, support our teachers, and help make AMS events and experiences even better.

And here’s the best part, you don’t have to volunteer to be a member! We know families have busy schedules, and simply joining the PTO is a great way to support AMS and stay connected to what’s happening on campus.

NJHS Applications Are Open for 8th Graders!

Parents, applications for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) are now open for our 8th grade students!

NJHS is an honor society that recognizes students who demonstrate the five pillars of Leadership, Scholarship, Character, Citizenship, and Service. Throughout the year, NJHS members will have opportunities to serve our school and community, grow as leaders, and get involved at AMS.

Students who are interested in applying can find the NJHS application Google Form posted in their RLA Canvas course. Please note that students MUST be signed into their Aledo ISD student email account to access and complete the Google Form. The form may not open if they are signed into a personal Google account.

Applications are due Sunday, August 23rd at midnight. We encourage students who are interested to apply and tell us how they demonstrate the five pillars of NJHS!

Our Circle of Greatness nomination form is open for the 2026-2027 school year, and we encourage you to nominate an employee, substitute and/or volunteer (new this year!) who gave you that A+ experience!

Also new this year: we'll be drawing for a gift card every quarter among the nominators and nominees along with awarding our quarterly overall Circle of Greatness winners!
