Important location update for our Aledo / Willow Park KLC families! 🤍

Due to flooding in the space next door that also affected part of our office, we’ll be temporarily relocating while repairs and construction are completed.

Beginning Monday, October 5th, all Aledo/Willow Park appointments will take place at:

📍 Union Pacific Building
395 Pitchfork Trail
Willow Park, TX

This is the Workspace 360 building, right next to Barrel of Monkeys. Look for the double red doors!

The good news: no services will pause during the move. Your appointments will continue as scheduled, and your individual therapist will let you know which room they’ll be seeing clients in.

Please confirm with your therapist that you’ve received this update so we can make sure no one accidentally heads to our regular KLC office on Monday. 🤍

We’re so thankful we were able to find a temporary space just down the road and appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility while our office is being repaired. We’ll keep you updated and let you know as soon as we’re ready to move back home!

It doesn’t have to be elaborate to feel special.

Here’s to making a little magic out of the ordinary days. 💙🩷🧡

Kids don’t always have the words to explain exactly what’s happening underneath the surface.

Sometimes “I don’t know” really does mean I don’t know. But sometimes it means I need another minute to think.

“Nothing” might mean I’m not ready to talk about it yet.

And the 47th “why?” of the day might actually be a child doing exactly what kids do best: trying to make sense of their world.

These aren’t literal translations for every child or every moment.

They’re just a reminder that there can be more happening behind a short response than the words we hear.

Communication is a skill, and sometimes understanding each other takes a little detective work. 💙🩷🧡

Sometimes a child understands so much more than they’re able to say. 💙🩷🧡

They may follow directions, recognize familiar words, and know exactly what they want, but still have a hard time finding the words to answer a question or explain what they’re thinking.

That’s because understanding language and using language are two different skills, and they don’t always develop at the same pace.

If the words aren’t there yet, the understanding still might be. Looks, gestures, sounds, and other ways of communicating can tell us a lot, too.

Language starts long before the first word. 💙🩷🧡

From those early coos and looks to first words and little sentences, there are so many ways to support communication along the way.

The best part? It doesn’t have to mean adding another “activity” to your day. Some of the most useful language practice happens during the things you’re already doing, like playtime, books, getting dressed, mealtimes, and everyday routines. 🤸‍♀️

When feeding is challenging, it’s easy for “Did they eat it?” to become the only measure of progress.

But sometimes progress happens before the bite.

Maybe a new food can sit on the plate without causing stress.

Maybe your child touches it, smells it, stays at the table longer, or simply feels a little more comfortable around it.

Those moments may look small from the outside, but they can still be meaningful steps forward.

A bite is one kind of progress. It isn’t the only one. 💙💗🧡

There’s a big difference between “reading is hard for me” and “I’m bad at school.”

Some kids need more time, more repetition, or a different kind of support before reading starts to click. That doesn’t say anything about how smart, creative, curious, or capable they are.
With the right instruction and support, hard things can get easier.

We want kids to know: this is something you’re learning, not something that defines you. 💙🩷🧡
