Crossing Guard Opportunity

The Village is seeking individuals interested in serving as crossing guards to help ensure the safety of students, pedestrians, and community members at designated intersections and school zones.

This is a paid position with responsibilities including safely assisting pedestrians and students across crosswalks, directing traffic as needed, and helping maintain a safe environment during busy school and pedestrian hours.

Anyone interested in learning more about this opportunity should contact the Village Hall directly for additional information.

🎒 Middle School is a Big Transition—for Students and Parents!

Starting middle school brings new experiences, greater independence, and plenty of opportunities for growth. As parents, one of the most important things we can do is provide encouragement, perspective, and support along the way.

We encourage our middle school families to watch this short video featuring a new middle school student, a coach, an official, and a school administrator as they share practical advice on how parents can help their children navigate these important years with confidence.

Whether your child is just entering middle school or is already finding their way, this is a great reminder that our role isn't to remove every challenge—it's to help our children build the skills to overcome them.

🏆💙💛 Recognized for Excellence! 💛💙🏆

At the June 17 Board of Education meeting, members of the 2026 Varsity Softball Team were recognized for an outstanding season that culminated in a Section 6 and NYSPHSAA Sub-Regional Championship. 🥎👏

The Board also recognized four members of the Track & Field Team for their impressive accomplishments and participation at the NYSPHSAA State Championships, where they proudly represented Alden on the state's biggest stage. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏅

Congratulations to all of these student-athletes for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud of the way they competed throughout the year! 🐾
