๐ GRANTS IN ACTION: What happens when an entire school reads the same book? At Alcoa High School, it became much more than a summer reading assignment!
This spring, the Alcoa City Schools Foundation awarded a grant to support Alcoa High Schoolโs schoolwide summer reading initiative, Alcoa Reads, making it possible for students and employees across the school to read Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins together.
But the experience didnโt end with the last page. When students returned to school, AHS brought the book to life with a schoolwide mock Hunger Games, giving students the chance to compete, have fun, and connect over a story they had all shared.
We love seeing Foundation grants create opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and bring an entire school community together around learning. โค๏ธ๐
