Maple Leaf Rag - Here's another fun one for you. I learned this a few years back but heard it everyday while my brother Will practiced it on the piano when we were young teens. I have this written out in a Mel Bay Publications book "Rags and Polkas" found at my site - Flatpik.com Enjoy!

The Ookpik Waltz.....Here's another favorite for you. I learned this tune from John Reischman a few years back. Thinking it was a traditional song, I included it on a CD, then a Mel Bay book and later a Homespun DVD (all available at Flatpik.com). Soon after I got a letter from Frank Rogers who said he wrote it and "where's my check?". After taking care of business, I asked what the Ookpik was and meant. He told me it is the Inuit legend of the owl spirit that takes your spirit to the next world.
Thanks to John, Frank for a wonderful melody and also thanks to Dan Crary for being such a great guitarist and friend and allowing us to steal his licks. I took the last Em harmonic lick from his Lady's Fancy album. The rest is mine.
Enjoy

Skater's Waltz.....Here's anotherin for you that I learned while transcribing the chords to Mark O'Conner's Homespun Fiddle Video.
You can learn this on my DVD called Learn to Play Waltzes found at Flatpik.com.
I might redo this one. There's one note I would like to change and also figure a way to start the backup without reaching for the space bar. Enjoy
