Earlier today, while technicians were updating emergency equipment in our schools, an emergency alert was inadvertently activated at Alcoa Elementary School.

There was no emergency or threat, and our schools are currently on fall break. Although the accidental activation was quickly confirmed, that information did not reach all communication channels immediately, which may have caused concern.

We appreciate the quick response of our staff and local emergency personnel and the concern of our community!
