New Mexico’s Environment Department (NMED) has proposed a statewide workplace heat standard — a major step forward in safeguarding worker health and safety in a rapidly warming climate. However, opposition is already strong and well-organized.
NMED needs to hear directly from educators about why this rule matters — and why heat standards matter for our schools and students.
A 60-day public comment period is now open (April 1st–May 30th), and this is our key window to make sure educator voices are front and center.
Read the proposed rule and submit your comments here: https://ow.ly/Wwfw50VHZ2M
