We are thrilled to be able to continue working with Barbara Rodriguez, whose first day as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs is today. There is so much to look forward to as we welcome a new president this summer as well, Dr. Steve Goldstein. Thanks to President Stokes' steady leadership the last eight years, UNM and Academic Affairs is on a great trajectory. Go Lobos!

University of New Mexico President Garnett S. Stokes has formally appointed Dr. Barbara Rodriguez as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective June 1, upon the recommendation of incoming President Steve Goldstein.

UNM celebrates 2026 graduates at spring commencement ceremonies
A sea of black and cherry swept across The University of New Mexico as more than 3,600 graduates officially joined the ranks of UNM alumni during the University’s 2026 graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies this weekend.

University of New Mexico to mark new Humanities & Social Sciences building with blessing ceremony
The University of New Mexico will hold a ceremonial blessing to mark the next phase of its new Humanities & Social Sciences (HSS) building on Tuesday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at the HSS building site. The event is open to the public.
