The New Mexico Sentencing Commission will evaluate whether a Santa Fe program that diverts low-level drug offenders into counseling and treatment can be a model for other communities.
The study of the Santa Fe Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion program is funded with a $100,000 grant from the Open Society Foundations, a George Soros led nonprofit that backs criminal justice reform.
