UNM Native American Leadership in Education Program The purpose of NALE is to address specific educational needs within Native American communities whil

NALE plans to demonstrate UNM’s commitment to Native American tribal, rural and urban communities surrounding Indian education. Intentional curriculum and program development will address the unique needs of communities in the P-20 pipeline while increasing the number of Native American administrators across the education spectrum in New Mexico, nationally, and internationally. E COHORT

* Cohort members will participate in a two day institute prior to starting the program for orientation and induction into the doctoral process and learning community.

* Members will share their input on a flexible delivery method for instruction (i.e. online, hybrid, face-to-face on the weekends (once a month), etc.

* Members will be matched with a Native American leadership mentor and faculty advisor that will provide support during the doctoral process.

The 2nd NALE cohort were able to continue their visits to Indigenous education sites today visiting the Pueblo of Jemez immersion headstart, Riverside charter school then on to the Pueblo of Zia to meet with Marsha Leno and finally to the Bernalillo School District Indian Education Program.
