Explore Academy is a free public high school established by state charter for students from Albuquerque and surrounding communities in central New Mexico. Each classroom course focuses on a limited number of state educational standards and lasts just twenty-two days with each student able to demonstrate proficiency on every standard at the end of each short course. Each course is offered in a numb

er of styles designed to draw out student interest, with popular books, sports, music, media, or other themes underlying classroom teaching and learning. Students choose the style of course they want to join in order to meet college-prepatory graduation requirements. What we offer is an interesting and free public high school education. Those in the Albuquerque area are invited to fill out an interest form at our website, www.exploreacademy.org. Free enrollment spaces are still available for the 2014-2015 academic year. If you do not happen to be in the Albuquerque area or do not have any high school age students, we who have worked so hard to create this unique school would be encouraged if you would like this page.

A few important dates are coming up for our Wolfpack:

📅 August 27: Term 2 schedules will be released. After reviewing your schedule, submit any changes through the Schedule Request Form.

📅 August 28–September 3: Flavor Picking is open for grades 6–7.

🇫🇷 Looking ahead: French 300 will be offered again in Term 3! If you previously signed up and need help updating your schedule, please reach out.

✨ Staff Spotlight: Meet Mrs. Henderson! ✨

This week, we’re excited to highlight Mrs. Henderson, one of our Middle School Science teachers, and an Explore Academy alum! Now in her first year of teaching, she’s come full circle from being an Explore student to helping inspire the next generation of the Wolfpack.

Her favorite part of teaching is connecting with her students, getting to know their unique personalities, and watching them grow and shine throughout the year. One of her biggest highlights has been returning to Explore as a teacher and seeing firsthand how much work goes into making the education here so special.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Henderson enjoys fishing, hunting, embroidery, baking, and relaxing with her favorite reruns. 🎣🧁

We’re so glad to have Mrs. Henderson back at Explore and now inspiring students from the other side of the classroom!
