ADC began in the Spring of 2013 as an outlet for dancers seeking to perform and compete in the Albuquerque area. Each year, it has grown training and pushing the artistry of competition dancers in Albuquerque. Since its inception ADC has received numerous awards including Overall High Scores and National recognition for Choreography.

CHOREO CAMP: Instructor Introduction🚨

We’re getting close to the first day of camp and are excited to share our final talented, guest artists who will be joining us for this unforgettable 4-day dance intensive!

✨Bobby Amamizu✨

Bobby Amamizu is a professional dancer, educator, and choreographer from Irvine, California, and a graduate of the Orange County School of the Arts. He holds a BFA in Dance Performance from University of California, Irvine and has built a diverse career across stage, industrials, company, film, and television. His stage/Industrials/Company credits include: Cirque du Soleil’s Viva Elvis (original cast), The Power of Music Evening with Hans Zimmer, Freelusion, International Ballet Festival of Miami, Laguna Dance Festival, National Choreographers Initiative, L’Oreal, Mattel, and Morinda. On screen, his work includes films such as A Week Away (Netflix), Valley Girl “Like Totally A Musical”, Fame, A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, Dear Dumb Diary and television appearances on Etoile, Young Sheldon, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Physical, Dancing with the Stars among others. In addition to performing, he has taught for many companies, institutions, and conventions such as Cirque du Soleil, OCSA, Edge Performing Arts Center, Steps on Broadway, Tremaine Dance Conventions, and Pace University’s Commercial Dance Department. Currently he serves on faculty for Hollywood Connection Dance Convention and holds the role of Lecturer at UC Irvine’s Dance Department. He has also assisted renowned choreographers including Marguerite Derricks, Michael Rooney, Bonnie Story, Lane Napper, and Dominique Kelley and most recently served as associate choreographer on the upcoming Netflix film Eloise.

CHOREO CAMP: Instructor Introduction🚨

We’re getting close to the first day of camp and still have a few introductions for the talented artists who will be joining us for this unforgettable 4-day dance intensive!

✨Tatiana Amamizu✨

Tatiana Amamizu is a Los Angeles-based dancer and educator. She began her formal dance training in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at New Mexico Dance Barre, where she studied both classical and commercial dance styles. Tatiana danced as a contract member of the New Mexico Ballet Company for six seasons and was a competitive dancer with ABQ Dance Collaborative.

She was accepted into the prestigious EDGE Performing Arts Center Scholarship Program before signing with The Movement Talent Agency. Some of her professional credits include Amazon Prime’s Étoile and Transparent, NBC’s This Is Us, Brat Network’s Dirt, and the Universal Studios Japan Super Nintendo World commercial featuring Charli XCX, among more.

As an educator, Tatiana has served on faculty at the EDGE Performing Arts Center’s Youth Program and was the Commercial Dance Competition Director at Peninsula School of Performing Arts. She is passionate about helping dancers build strong technique, artistry, confidence, and versatility while preparing them for today’s classical and commercial dance
industries.

We are so grateful for the legacy we have gotten to create through our program which allows dancers to return and teach for us! Tatiana was one of the founding member of our program and we are so excited to welcome her back to share her talents with our current ADC dancers!

✨ Alejandro Valentin✨

Alejandro ValentĂ­n is a proud alumni of the Albuquerque Dance Collaborative. He is based in New York City where he studies at PACE University and is on track to receive his BFA in Commercial Dance. Alejandro has had the opportunity to dance on stage at Universal Studios Hollywood, be a back up dancer for La India Yuridia, and make his Off-Broadway debut with Classic Stage Company in NYC, along with multiple performances with the New Mexico Ballet Company. He has won multiple choreography awards across regional competitions in Albuquerque and has had choreography featured in a student showcase with Francisco Gella Dance Works.

We are so grateful for the legacy we have gotten to create through our program which allows dancers to return and teach for us! Come join us to take class for Alejandro!

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing the talented artists who will be joining us for this unforgettable 4-day dance intensive!

✨ Benjamin Jones✨

Benjamin Jones is a Los Angeles based dance artist entering his senior year at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. Recent training includes Springboard Danse, the Imre Van Opstal and Chloé Albaret Creative Lab, the Nederlands Dans Theater Summer Intensive, Ballet BC’s 44 Summer Intensive, Orsolina28’s Crystal Pite and Marco Goecke repertory intensives, The School at Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Performance Ensemble, and a 2023 Zeitgeist Dance Theatre Trainee. Benjamin has performed works by Aszure Barton, Shahar Binyamini, Peter Chu, Jackie Kopcsak, Chloe Crenshaw, Sharon Eyal, Nina Flagg, Roderick George, Martha Graham, Jiří Kylián, Andrea Miller, Janie Taylor, and Spenser Theberge. His professional performance experience includes Shahar Binyamini’s Bolero X, performed with Ballet BC, and Martha Graham’s Acts of Light, as part of the LA Dances Graham100 celebration, both at the Soraya Theatre.

We absolutely love having such talented dancers from NM come back and share their wealth of knowledge with us! Come join Benjamin as he shares his artistry!

🚨 CHOREO CAMP: Instructor Introduction🚨

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing the talented artists who will be joining us for this unforgettable 4-day dance intensive!

✨ Davonna Batt✨

With roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Davonna has been fortunate to pursue dance from an early age. She received her B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Arizona with Honors, Summa Cum Laude. Since moving to New York City in 2014, she has danced in and collaborated with several companies and artists including ALMA NYC, Nicole Wolcott, Amanda + James, and of bones dance. ​In addition, she’s had the opportunity to tour nationally with DAMAGEDANCE and internationally with Sarah Berges Dance. Davonna is a founding dancer and now co-director of Gotham Dance Theater.

Along the way, Davonna discovered a love for teaching, and has been guiding movers of all ages to find their voice and power through their bodies. Studio credits include Peridance Center, Mark Morris Dance Center, Brooklyn CenterStage Dance, Brooklyn Dance Conservatory, Jewish Center for Performing Arts, New Mexico Ballet Academy, and others. In addition to 8 years of teaching in various styles including modern, contemporary, ballet, jazz, improvisation, and hip hop, Davonna is a certified MELT Method instructor.

We absolutely love having such talented dancers from NM come back and share their wealth of knowledge with us! Come learn from Davonna as she shares her artistry and talent!

🚨 CHOREO CAMP: Instructor Introduction🚨

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing the talented artists who will be joining us for this unforgettable 4-day dance intensive!

✨ Jose Soto✨

Jose Soto is a dancer, educator, and creator specializing in jazz, jazz funk, and contemporary dance. He began his training at the age of seventeen at Maryvale High School and later under the direction of Miss Elizabeth Roper. Jose became a Pulse Protege at age twenty and started dancing professionally shortly after. He performed with Center Dance Ensemble, EPIK Dance Company, Phoenix Contemporary Dance Company, Scorpius Dance Theatre, Automatic Response Dance Crew, Tiger Style Crew, and the WNBA Mercury Hip Hop Squad. Additionally, Jose has been invited to guest perform all over the country and he was part of the Cirque Du Solei database. He is now a faculty member with celebrity dance competition and Streetz Dance Covention, One Rythmn, and KinFigure . Beyond Jose’s amazing performance experience, he is a highly sought after master teacher and choreographer– his award-winning work can be seen on stages across the country! When Jose isn’t traveling and spreading his love and passion for dance, he teaches regularly at Ashburn Academy of Dance in Ashburn, VA. Jose’s catchphrase, “don’t think, just feel” and “practice to be fearless not perfect “is a perfect summary of what you can expect in his class– all the feels plus permission to let loose, work hard, and just dance!

We couldn’t be more excited to have Jose joining us this year to share his passion for dance! This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!
