It’s miles galore (the unit of measurement, not the small furry creature) in Ms. Bradney’s 11th grade IN Chemistry class. After participating in a seminar on the topic last week, the class got to show their creative side in today’s lab. Juniors calculated the number of atoms in chalk pieces before drawing their own masterpieces. Once finished, students were then able to determine how many atoms made up their chalk drawings.

When you see a school bus slowing down or stopping, it’s not just the bus that you need to have your eyes on – but the surrounding area too.

Children wait at least several feet away from a bus and often cross the street when they’re boarding or getting off the bus.

This is why you must stop for school buses, and don’t attempt to pass.

Illegal School Bus Passing

Illegal school bus passing poses a significant threat to children and others on the road.

In every state, it is illegal for you to pass a school bus while the stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.

It was great spending time with all of our new and returning families during Jumpstart this week!

If you weren't able to attend, a make-up Jumpstart will take place on Friday 7/31 from 12-2p.m. Note: Student IDs, schedules, and lockers will not be distributed at this session, students will receive these during the first week of school.

Back to school is almost here! Here are the details for our returning student Chromebook distribution. 💻

(NOTE: New 6th graders will get theirs in tech class the first week of school. New 7th through 12th grade students will be emailed with a date for checking out their chromebooks.)

Please take note of two important details prior to pickup:
• The Student Chromebook Check-out and Return Agreement 2026 - 2027 must be completed before a student can receive their device.
• Please ensure any outstanding fines on your student's account have been reconciled with the Tech Team beforehand.

Pickup Location
Distribution will take place in the hallway outside the Technology Office (C-7) and the library. Please enter through the student entrance and follow the signs.

Pickup Schedule (by Last Name)
To help manage traffic and wait times, distribution will take place from 12:00- 2:00 p.m. daily, organized by the student's last name:
• Monday, July 20: Last names beginning with A – C
• Tuesday, July 21: Last names beginning with D – G
• Wednesday, July 22: Last names beginning with H – M
• Thursday, July 23: Last names beginning with N – S
• Friday, July 24: Last names beginning with T – Z

Please join us for an evening where parents and teachers/staff can learn from charter school leaders about how most spotlight schools, including many charters ended up losing state money for this school year. We'll write letters (emails and postcards) to various key legislators (both "thanks for your support" letters and "please reconsider your position" letters), and dinner will be provided.

It will be on Monday Oct 20th, 6pm, at CCPS with pizza. It is open to parents and teachers/staff from all charter schools and we'd love to have as many CCPS parents as possible attend this event!
