Today we celebrate the enduring legacy, leadership, and brotherhood of the Iota Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Chartered to serve and uplift our community, Iota Psi Lambda continues to embody the vision of our Seven Jewels and the mission of Alpha — developing leaders, promoting brotherhood and and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

From mentoring young men through Alpha Mentorship Program (AMP), to awarding scholarships, to standing on the front lines of civic engagement and community impact — our chapter represents what it means to be a House of Alpha in action.

“A Voteless People is a Hopeless People” was initiated as a National Program of Alpha Phi Alpha during the 1930’s when many African-Americans had the right to vote but were prevented from voting because of poll taxes, threats of reprisal, and lack of education about the voting process.

Voter education and registration have remained a dominant focus of this outreach activity for over 65 years. In the 1990’s, the focus has shifted to include political awareness and empowerment, delivered most frequently through town meetings and candidate forums.

The brothers of Iota Psi Lambda and Tau Sigma Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. came together for our Saturday monthly Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Streetscape Cleanup. Honoring Dr. King’s legacy through service, unity, and a commitment to a cleaner, stronger community. 💛🖤
