πŸ₯¬πŸ… Fresh food. Healthy choices. Bright futures.

APS Food & Nutrition Services was honored to join the NAACP Albuquerque Branch and UNM Hospital for the Food is Medicine community event, where families connected with nutrition resources, enjoyed cooking demonstrations and received free boxes of fresh produce.

Executive Director Marie Johnson shared simple ways to make healthy eating part of everyday life, encouraging families to:
πŸ₯• Eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day
🍎 Enjoy fruits and vegetables in their natural form whenever possible
🌈 Eat the rainbow by choosing a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables

We also shared our new farm-fresh pico de gallo recipe, giving families a taste of what's ahead! This school year, students will see more scratch-made meals featuring locally sourced ingredients and culturally relevant flavors on APS menus.

We're excited to continue serving meals that are fresh, nutritious and delicious while helping students build healthy habits for life.
