North Star Elementary School

Fifth grade graduation was made even more special by the incredible show of support from those who helped shape our school community over the years.

Seeing former principals (L-R) Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Kershen, Mrs. Fascitelli, and Mr. Barlow take the time to come celebrate our students was such a meaningful reminder that education is so much bigger than a single school year. These leaders each played a part in building the foundation that helped our students grow into the amazing young people they are today.

A huge thank you to our incredible fifth grade teachers for the heart, patience, and dedication you poured into this class all year long. You helped guide, encourage, and prepare these students for their next big chapter, and today’s celebration is a reflection of all your hard work. Thank you for loving our kids so well!! 💙🎓

Maranda Willingham, second grade teacher, told the kids they could stick one sticker for every 6 points of growth they made from their middle of the year math and reading scores until now. Two hundred and seventy-four stickers total and a ton of growth later, they nailed it! So proud of our smarties!! 🥹🧠

The Kindergartners had so much fun hosting DONUTS WITH DADS DAY!! Thank you for everyone who participated and made this possible!! ❤️

Get ready for our GRAD WALK!! Our former students, who are now seniors, come and walk our hallways in their cap and gown to inspire our future graduates!!🎓 🌟🥳 It also gives us the opportunity to CONGRATULATE them on this proud achievement!!

School Counselor Freeman has been working with our 5th graders on social-emotional learning and “Leaving a Legacy” as they prepare for middle school. Students reflected on questions like: What advice would you give future 5th graders? How will you leave your mark before moving on? 💙🎓

It’s National School Nurse Day!! 💜 😍 North Star is fortunate to have Nurse Kellie Griego!! She works tirelessly to insure the health and safety of every student with kindness and gentleness!! Standing beside her is Miranda Saiz, our Health Assistant!! Teacher Appreciation Week runs from Monday, May 4th, through Friday, May 8th, with National Teacher Appreciation Day on Tuesday, May 5th!!
