Deadline extended!

If you are a high school student in the United States and want to be a part of our National Student Council and haven't applied yet, you're in luck! We have extended the deadline for applications by one week. ’s National School Climate Survey is a national survey about LGBTQIA2S+ students’ experiences in school.

It asks about things students deal with every day—feeling safe or unsafe, support from adults, school culture, and what helps students feel like they belong. The information helps Glisten work toward safer, more affirming schools.

Applications for our 2026-2027 National Student Council cohort are open until August 21st!

The NSC is a platform for LGBTQ+ youth to cultivate their leadership potential, amplify their voices, and actively contribute to creating more inclusive and equitable environments for all students.

The NSC plays a pivotal role in providing feedback on Glisten’s programs, resources, and overall strategy. As youth representatives, they offer their unique perspectives and insights, ensuring that Glosten's initiatives remain relevant and impactful. NSC members are passionate about social justice and actively seek to deepen their knowledge and practice around racial justice, gender justice, and disability justice.

Eligibility: All current U.S. LGBTQ+ and allied high school students in grades 9–12 are eligible to apply for the National Student Council.
