Ph.D graduate student Moonsun Choi awarded with the Outstanding Ph.D Student Award. This award recognizes outstanding Doctor of Philosophy graduate students for their excellence in research. Moonsun Choi recently graduated with her dissertation "Examining conditional indirect media effects through normative perceptions: The role of traditional family gender role expectations and stigmatizing beliefs in HPV vaccination" (Advisor: Dr. Hong)

Seven of our graduate students awarded with the Everett Rogers Graduate Research Scholar Award: Sudhiti Naskar, Arif Tareque Habib, Cynthia Killough, Jayita Chakraborty, Saqia Shahzadi, Sarah Seroy, and Soham Sen. This award recognizes outstanding graduate students for their research accomplishments and academic performance. It is primarily awarded by the University of New Mexico (UNM) Department of Communication and Journalism, where Everett Rogers was a distinguished professor.

Graduate students Lest Pizzini and Jayita Chakraborty awarded with the Hank Trewhitt Departmental Service Award. This award recognizes outstanding graduate students for their commitment to departmental service. Both Lest and Jayita served as COMMGrads Co-Presidents this past year, coordinating graduate student events and resources in efforts of community building and connection.

The Department of Communication and Journalism celebrated their annual Convocation Ceremony Friday, May 15th, at Keller Hall.
