The Montessori Academy

We're deeply grateful to Senator Katy Duhigg, Day Hochman-Vigil for HD15, Representative Diane Torres-Velasquez, and Representative Marian Matthews for championing our capital outlay project this year. We are pleased to announce that Zedekiah Iburan (5th, Ms. Yannick) will be representing The Montessori Academy at the New Mexico State Spelling Bee on Saturday March 21, 2026 at CNM. Zed took second place in our school spelling bee, third place in the multi-district spelling bee and will compete with the top 25 spellers in New Mexico for a chance to go Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. In June. Best of luck to Zed!

So proud of our archery students this past weekend at their tournament! A huge thank you to Ms. Pam and her husband Dave (affectionately referred to as Mr. Pam) for their time and effort with our archery program! We are so thankful we have this elective at TMA. 🏹 🎯

Today our 1st and 2nd grade team had a blast celebrating the 100th day of school by dressing up like they were 100 years old! We just love how fun our staff is!

🌲On Thursday, 1/15/26, our TMA 4th grade students became Junior Rangers! They learned about New Mexico National Forests and all public lands and received special visit from Smokey the Bear!

🥾A special thanks to Ken Born, District Ranger and Andrew Ellis, Wildlife Biologist. Also thanks to Sandia Ranger District and Cibola National Forest for bringing the Every Kid Outdoors program to our school!

The Montessori Academy has once again been recognized as a “Spotlight School” by New Mexico Public Education Department- placing TMA in the top 25% of schools in New Mexico for Academic Achievement! This honor reflects the incredible work of our dedicated teachers and staff, the hard work of our amazing students, and our supportive families!
