Maddix Daniel is heading into his senior year and he’s got a decision in front of him. Helicopters or fixed wing.

Most people that age get told to pick a direction and figure it out later. Maddix came out to Del Sol and flew with CFII Arthur Yarotski instead, which is a much better way to answer the question.

Sergio Morales earned his commercial certificate last month with CFI Jose Padilla! Here’s what makes it good.

Sergio is one of our mechanics. He’s been working on these airplanes, and somewhere in there he decided he wanted to fly them too. Now he’s on his way to the airlines.

Anyone who’s ever worked on the maintenance side and wondered about the other seat should take a look at what Sergio just did.

Jack McMinn is going into his senior year of high school and he’s already thinking hard about what comes next. Helicopters or fixed wing, he hasn’t decided yet.

He’s been flying at home on a simulator for a while, so he decided to come out to Del Sol and fly for real with CFII Arthur Yarotski. You can see from that smile it went well!

Whichever way he goes, he’s off to a good start. Welcome Jack!!

If you trained multi-engine at Del Sol a while back, there’s a decent chance David was your instructor. Steady, patient, good in the right seat. He’s a captain at Frontier now.

Here’s what he probably didn’t tell you during your training. Before he ever taught here, he flew the EA-18G Growler into Syria on the first day of combat operations!

That’s the thing about flight instructors. The person teaching you steep turns has usually done more than they let on. David finally tells this one, and it’s worth the listen.

Some of you had David as your multi-engine instructor. He flew electronic warfare in the Navy, came to Del Sol and taught here after he got out, and today he’s a captain at Frontier.

So when Erik Sabiston asked him whether pilots are going to get replaced, that answer comes from somebody who’s flown the tip of the spear and also sat in the right seat teaching somebody their first engine-out.
