We just posted to alasdenm.net a report on Hispanics in NM that looks at demographics and educational outcomes. The report contains lots of really helpful and interesting information, graphics and charts. Thanks to the UNM Center for Education Policy Research.

Congrats to Eddie Soto who has been named to the Board of Directors for the national Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents. Eddie was the chair of the ALAS de NM steering committee and now serves as an advsor to the interim board.

We just adopted bylaws and selected interim officers. Visit our website to read the bylaws in both English and Spanish and to see the list of officers. We encourage you to attend our next meeting on Friday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m. at the APS administrative building.

The money will help pay for professional development opportunities the organization hopes to offer in the coming months. More information on fees will be forthcoming.

Mark your calendars! We are having an important planning meeting from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Albuquerque Public Schools administrative offices, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE. We will be finalizing our bylaws and selecting an interim board. All members are encouraged to attend.
