Head of School Julianne Puente hits the Quad for one of the best days of the year: the annual Student Club Fair! 🚗👔🀄🎨

“The fly lab is an introduction to research, giving high school students the opportunity to figure out if they’d like research as a potential career. It’s unique in that a lot of students never touch research until their undergraduate degree. The research the class conducts changes from year to year because we work in tandem with Dr. Seung Kim and his lab from the Stan-X program at Stanford Medical School. It’s one of those classes that I’ve looked forward to taking since 7th grade. I remember hearing about it, and I was beyond excited.”

Help us celebrate the special people in our Charger alumni community! 🎉

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes extraordinary achievement or service that exemplifies the principles and values of Albuquerque Academy. It may honor an individual for one noteworthy act or for many years of effort and accomplishment.

The Young Alumni Service Award is presented to an alum age 35 or younger who has made significant personal achievements in serving the local, national, or international community.

‘‘I organized Arthur Ashe Day, a program that promotes diversity in tennis. I wanted kids from all types of backgrounds to experience tennis for free. Our outreach program is called Beyond the Baseline, and I think of that as a huge metaphor. How are you taking your tennis experience beyond the court, putting that into real-life scenarios? Everyone should be able to experience a sport, without barriers. I want people to never settle for something they think is not enough.’’

“I moved from another state before I started 6th grade. I play basketball, and I’ve really connected with all of the basketball kids. We’re always together. Between the activities and extracurriculars and the family groups in 6th and 7th grade, it’s way easier to make friends at the Academy than at my other schools. I’ve been to many other schools, and I’ve made my closest friends here.”
