🤓📚📖 This week at Alvarado we honored students who demonstrated significant reading growth over the year, showcasing their hard work and advancements in literacy. With support from the NMPED Structured Literacy Initiative, three students were also awarded brand-new bikes as part of the festivities.

Congratulations to these young readers for their commitment and progress! 💙💫

👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2026! As a feeder school for Valley, some of the graduating class got their start right here at Alvarado. We are honored to have the opportunity each year to host them for a final walk through and to give our current All-Stars a sneak peek into the future! 💙⭐️

⚽️💲💫 Check out this shining All-Star! Zaya was selected as a first-round winner for her essay on what savings means to them as part of the New Mexico United Savings Goals Campaign, “a new financial literacy initiative designed to engage fifth-grade students through creative learning and community connection“. As a winner, she received four tickets to the New Mexico United soccer match on May 23rd. During the event, she will be recognized publicly for her achievement and will also have the special opportunity to meet the players on the field after the game. She also got to celebrate with her classmates and a United defender, Will Seymore. Huge thanks to & for the opportunity! 💙⭐️

💃🎶 We received one item for our Silent Auction that arrived too late to be included in our event. However, if anyone is interested in bidding on two premium seats for a Sunday matinee at Tablao Flamenco, please follow the link below!

💫💙☀️ Playday will be on Wednesday, May 27 and will run from 9:00AM - 2:00PM. Students will need a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, towel and appropriate clothing for getting wet. 🧴🩳🩱💦🧢👒

9:00a-11:00a: K-2 in the gym & 3-5 on the field

11:00a-12:00p: Lunch for all 🍽️

12:00p-2:00p: K-2 on the field & 3-5 in the gym

We are asking that each class has two or more volunteers to help run a station on the field. We will have 8-10 stations and students will rotate through each station with their designated group.
