Hey NM Staters! We hope you’ve had a great summer and are looking forward to an amazing senior year! Thank you all again for joining us for a week of fun and learning at American Legion & American Legion Auxiliary New Mexico Staters.

During the week of American Legion & American Legion Auxiliary NM Staters we had the opportunity to have New Mexico State Police Officer Justin Hynes and Officer Alexia Reyna join us on staff.

These two officers assisted with city checks, mentored our city police officers and county sheriffs in issuing citations, and assisted wherever we needed support during the week. Officer Heinz got in on the fun when he was cited by our Staters and had to show up in our mock courts! Officer Reyna let the students explore during our first responders night and learn about policing.

We’d like to thank the New Mexico State Police for their continued support of our program and assigning Officer Heinz and Officer Reyna to us for the week!

Throughout the week delegates had the opportunity to participate in city council meetings, municipal courts, legislative committees, county courts, senate and house sessions and many more hands on learning about the government process. We enjoyed working with them and hearing their thoughts as they governed their cities, counties and state.
