Genius Hour is underway at Los Padillas! Our first round gives students the opportunity to explore their interests, ask questions, create, and learn by doing.
From our News class interviewing students in Bug Investigators, to younger Roadrunners exploring 3D Art using 3D pens, and students learning dance through cumbias, corridos, and zapateado! Our Genius Hour offerings celebrate curiosity, creativity, culture, and student choice! 🐛🎨💃

Our 4th and 5th graders made their first visit of the year to the Colaboratorio! This makerspace is where Environmental STEM comes to life through designing, building, experimenting, and solving problems connected to the world around us. 🌎

Students develop creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills while using their bilingual voices to share ideas, explain their thinking, and learn together. ¡Mucho que crear y descubrir este año!

We are incredibly proud of Los Padillas Elementary for earning certification through New Mexico’s first Community Schools Certification pilot! This recognition celebrates the partnerships, family engagement, resources, and opportunities that help strengthen our school community. 🌎💛
A huge congratulations to our dedicated staff and Community School Coordinator for making this work possible! We are proud to be part of this important milestone alongside Albuquerque High, Marie Hughes Elementary, and Wilson Middle School.
