CONGRATULATIONS 2026 UNDERWRITING RECIPIENT Monica Sanchez! Robb Trust is providing funding for a workshop production of THE RIVER IS A SCAR THAT SOMETIMES BLEEDS WATER, which is a step towards developing the play for a future, fully produced theatre event. The play encompasses a broad reach of New Mexican histories, customs, characters, and rituals. Traditional music and specific songs from the Robb collection are a vital element to completing the storytelling of this play’s narrative. Learn more robbtrust.org

ELECTRONIC MUSIC PIONEER J.D. Robb began experimenting with electronic music in the 1950s and was one of the first in the world to purchase a Moog Synthesizer from Robert Moog in 1965. Robb's electronic music, published in the 1970s by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, are astonishingly ahead of their time. This video clip features Robb's "Rhythmania". Learn more at robbtrust.org

ELECTRONIC MUSIC PIONEER Robb composed Rhythmania in the early 1970s. Smithsonian Folkways Records released it in 1976. The composition features a specially assembled Moog synthesizer, the ARP 2600, and the Synthi AKS synthesizer.
