Enjoy some French classical music this weekend! Concert includes La Mer by Debussy and La Valse by Ravel.
We are so excited to welcome to the stage the winner of the Paganini Competition, Giuseppe Gibboni, performing Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 2 on Saturday, March 21 with Music Director Roberto Minczuk. Please join us! Info: https://nmphil.org/event/la-mer/
The program also features the magnificent Enescu Rhapsody No. 1, Debussy’s La Mer, and Ravel’s La Valse. From being in awe of Giuseppe’s extraordinary virtuosity, to dancing along with the Rhapsody and La Valse, to experiencing the sea through sound, this is a musical journey you will not forget.

The 30th anniversary of the Fête du Pain is taking over the square in front of Notre-Dame from May 8 to May 17. The city's best bakers set up a massive temporary bakery right on the parvis of the cathedral.
You can watch the 12th National Competition for the Best French Traditional Baguette happen live. Artisans from every region of France compete in glass-walled ovens, so you see the entire process from flour to crust. It is a rare chance to taste award-winning bread seconds after it leaves the heat 😍😍
The festival honors Saint-Honoré, the patron saint of bakers, and 2026 is a particularly big deal because the cathedral is fully reopened. Entry is free, and the smell of sourdough and yeast fills the entire 4è Arrondissement.
If you are near the Seine during those 10 days, just follow your nose to the cathedral!
Beyond the competition baguettes, you can find regional specialties that are usually hard to track down in Paris. Bakers are happy to explain their fermentation techniques or show kids how to shape a boule. The most authentic food experience in the city this year 🤩

Joyeuse fête!
Today in France, we will mostly be eating Galette des Rois - the Kings Cake. A 6 January tradition in which a little figurine is hidden and who ever gets it in their slice wears a paper crown for the day - except for the President of France - his cake is not allowed to have a figurine in as he mustn't win and wear a crown. True story. 👑
