New Mexico School of Music

New Mexico School of Music Founded in October 2005, the New Mexico School of Music is home to over 800 students of all ages and levels.

The New Mexico School of Music provides music lessons on virtually all instruments and voice for students of all ages and levels. Founded in 2005 the school has grown to two convenient locations with a faculty of 40 instructors and over 800 students.

Congratulations to our winners in the 2026 Jackie McGehee Young Artists' Competition! Evan Morgan - 1st Place in the Piano Solo Category. Sowmya Sankaran - 1st Place in the Piano Concerto Category. Evan and Sowmya are students of NMSM CEO/Director Lawrence Blind. The Jackie McGehee competition has awarded over $250,000 in its 32-year history, and NMSM students have received eight first-place awards, in addition to numerous 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
