Hey ESJ friends! We really hope to see you at our Back to School/Meet the Teacher Day this Thursday at 12 PM! We’ll have community partners there to provide all the support you may need to make this a successful school year for you and your family! We’ll also be joined by Kona Shaved Ice to provide a refreshing treat as you explore the school and meet your teacher! A portion of the Kona proceeds will go directly to support YOUR Geckos PTA. 🤩 We’re already so excited and gearing up for a great school year with every one of the new and returning Geckos!

After more than three decades of inspiring students through art, literacy, and language, we celebrate the retirement of Ms. Amy Sweet.

You created a place where students felt seen, valued, and encouraged to shine. Through every lesson, every project, and every encouraging word, you helped generations of students discover their talents and believe in themselves.

Su impacto va mucho más allá del salón de clases, y su legado seguirá viviendo en cada estudiante, familia y colega que tuvo la fortuna de conocerla. Thank you for helping students find their voices, express their creativity, and grow with confidence.

So proud of this team. They battled until the very end in an incredibly close championship game and earned a hard-fought second place finish. Sports teach us so much more than winning — teamwork, resilience, heart, and how to grow through both victories and disappointments. This group showed all of that and more. What a season and what a team. 💛 💙 🦎

🧶✨ Students at East San Jose Elementary are building creativity, focus and fine motor skills through weaving.

SETT Teacher Resident Brent Bausano recently led a hands-on Genius Hour weaving program where students learned weaving techniques while creating projects to take home and enjoy. The SETT residency program helps future educators gain real classroom experience while supporting meaningful learning opportunities for APS students.

We want to take some time today thanking Explora for their amazing partnership and support of East San Jose’s 1st grade classrooms this 25/26 year! Our students have been hands-on learning with them, and it’s been wonderful to have them. Today was watercolor art with bubbles, and it was a HIT! Thank you Explora and your amazing team, we can’t wait to see what next school years brings! 🫧🎨🖼️
