Coronado Dual Language Magnet Elementary School

Coronado Elementary School is a Dual Language Magnet School that emphasizes service learning and project-based learning with a two-way immersion program (TWI).
The dual-language curriculum uses a 80/20 model, which means that those students starting out in kindergarten will receive 80 percent of their instruction in Spanish. By the time they get to the fourth grade they will receive instruction in English and in Spanish.

Our students worked with Escuela Primaria Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla in Juarez, Mexico on this amazing project. It is featured in the UNM Masley Hall Galery.

We were just awarded a Grassroots Equity Grant of $1500 from .org and ! With the grant, Coronado Dual Language Magnet School will build a new school garden!
We were just awarded a grand from the APS Foundation of $7800 for our school garden and outdoor learning space! https://www.facebook.com/ABQAPSEducationFoundation/
We also awarded a donation of Soil for our garden from Soilutions!
