ATTN GRADS 3-5 YEARS OUT:

We have a group in our International Entrepreneurial Exchange course (SDV) that would like to interview you. If you are interested/willing to be interviewed, please contact Vicki Baker ([email protected]). Here is a summary of their project:

Leadership Elevation is a startup aiming to revolutionize the HR advancement process for high potentials who are 3-5 years post hire. Current processes may not identify talent and/or not assist employees in developing leadership skills. Our simulations are designed to immerse the employee into typical, real life leadership situations in today's dynamic work environment. Employees will complete computer-based simulations to receive quantitative results of current leadership skills and areas for improvement. By adopting our simulation process, we will help high potential employees move forward in their career advancement while also benefiting HR professionals in their identification of these high potential employees. We recognize the limitations of current talent identification. Leadership Elevation can help facilitate a more efficient process for both employee and employer.

We stand together with our Black students, alumni, faculty, staff and broader community members in condemning the recent acts of racism on campus. Hatred and injustice have no place at Albion, and will not be tolerated.

We are currently investigating who is responsible for the racist graffiti in our residential buildings and we will seek criminal charges against those involved. If they are Albion College students, they will also immediately be subject to the student conduct process—including the potential for suspension or expulsion.

We cannot become a true community of belonging until everybody feels safe on campus, and it is our responsibility to continuously reaffirm our commitment to anti-racism through both words and actions.

We hope you're planning to participate in HOMEcoming activities over the next few days. Although virtual, we'll still be hosting an open house Saturday morning. Join me and a couple of our great juniors to say hi, introduce yourself, ask questions and get updated on the Gerstacker Institute.

October 14 – 18, 2020. Homecoming and Family Day will both be fully virtual this year for alumni, family and friends. Of course they will look a bit different, but we hope the feeling will be nearly the same—one of shared Briton pride, belonging, purpose and action!
