🐾🏈Northwestern JV/V Football parents/coaches/boosters:

I know these are busy days for all involved... I was just wondering if there has been any news or talk of live-streaming games?

We continue to hope we get word that family (at the least parents) can attend games, but we also want to prepare for the worst case scenario as well. I know my family would be willing to help make this happen in anyway possible whether it would be a monetary donation, set up, etc...

I am sure other families are willing too!
Anyone have equipment and tech knowledge to put the games on utube or something?
A picture I took that I would like to share..
Wrestling sign-ups will be Wednesday, November 6th in the HS cafeteria following morning announcements (7:30amish). This is open for all HS and MS wrestlers. Please plan to attend and meet Coach Merritt and get information about the upcoming season. Anyone is welcome, experienced or first-time wrestlers!
Please delete if not allowed...but I’m hoping that this shirt won’t go to waste🤷🏼‍♀️
I purchased this from the Spirit wear sale but this style runs a little small (It’s that “silky” kinda material)I have the order form picture below with description. It’s a Medium, it fits me just not as comfortable as I’d like so I’ve only wore it once. I tried to return it for a different size but they don’t do returns on special orders.😔
Would anyone here be interested? There’s NO NAME printed on it. Pretty sure I paid well over $30...if anyone would be willing to give me $15 it’s yours. It’s just hanging in my closet and it makes me mad that I don’t like the fit because the material is very comfortable.

District 10 football storylines: Northwestern faces semifinal showdown with Wilmington

Chasing history

One of the things Northwestern football is known for is being the last Erie County team to win a District 10 Class 2A championship, which took place in 1993. Since 1993, the only small-school football team in Erie County to win a D-10 title is Mercyhurst Prep in 2007 in Class 1A.

Northwestern can get back on track as a championship-contending team with a win on Friday against traditional powerhouse Wilmington. The teams will meet in the D-10 2A semifinals Friday at 7 p.m. at Edinboro University.

Northwestern (7-0) is led by standout senior quarterback Ryan Tewell, who has 1,320 passing yards and a school-record 24 touchdowns with just one interception. Northwestern dominated its Region 2 opponents and beat Class 4A Warren in non-region play. The Wildcats have outscored their opponents by an average of 44-6.

Wilmington (6-2) lost a talented senior class to graduation after advancing to the PIAA Class 2A championship game in 2020. The Greyhounds have lost to top-seeded Farrell (54-0) and Ohio school Liberty-Benton (35-14) and haven't been as dominant in their wins as they have in past seasons. Still, Wilmington has its tradition as a D-10 power working for it as the players try to live up to the postseason success of previous classes.

As a program, Northwestern has lost seven straight D-10 semifinal games, including a 30-10 loss to Farrell last year, a 14-10 loss to Greenville in 2019 and a 55-6 loss to Sharpsville in 2018. The Wildcats' last win in the semifinals came in 1996, a 42-0 rout of Strong Vincent at Girard High School. Northwestern went on to lose to Wilmington 19-7 in the D-10 championship game at Sharon High School.

Wilmington is 7-3 all-time in playoff games played in Erie County, but two of the losses are to Sharon in the D-10 playoffs at Veterans Stadium and the third was to Girard at Veterans Stadium in the 2003 D-10 semifinals. Wilmington has played seven playoff games at Veterans Stadium and three at General McLane High School, but the Greyhounds have never played a playoff game at Edinboro University.

District 10 football storylines: Northwestern faces semifinal showdown with Wilmington Among the Friday's top District 10 football storylines is Northwestern's quest to beat traditional power Wilmington the Class 2A semifinals.

What we learned, District 10 football, Week 9: 6 Erie County teams post lopsided wins

Tewell, Wildcats stay hot

Ryan Tewell and Northwestern put an exclamation point on their perfect Region 2 season on Friday when Tewell set two school records in a 60-8 rout of Iroquois at Fairview's Bestwick Stadium.

On Friday morning, the game was moved from Northwestern's Rogers Field to Fairview because of poor field conditions on the Wildcats' grass field.

The Wildcats looked at home from the start as they took a 14-0 first-quarter lead on Tewell's two TD passes. The senior quarterback was just getting started, though, as he finished with a school-record six touchdown passes and set the school's single-season record with 24 TD passes.

He had shared the former single-game record of five TD passes with Killian Cooper and Eric Mikovich. He broke Mikovich's record of 21 TD passes in a season.

Tewell wasn't the only record-breaker for the Wildcats. Three of his touchdown strikes went to Jake Kelley, who tied the Northwestern record for touchdown receptions in a game. Kelley had TD catches of 9, 26 and 40 yards.

Tewell also threw TD passes of 11 yards to Eric Dorr, 20 yards to Eric Steinle and 34 yards to Cam Perkins.

Another Northwestern record was set in the passing game, but this one came defensively. Jashaun Perry intercepted an Iroquois pass in the fourth quarter and returned it for a school-record 104 yards and a touchdown.

WAY TO GO CATS!!!!
Record-breaking game and season 🐾 🐾

Northwestern 60, Iroquois 8: At Fairview's Bestwick Stadium, the Wildcats clinched a share of the Region 2 title in game that was moved to Fairview because of poor conditions at Northwestern.

Ryan Tewell threw a school-record six touchdown passes, including three to Jake Kelley, as he continued his banner season at quarterback for the Wildcats. Tewell had shared the previous single-game TD record of five with Killian Cooper and Eric Mikovch.

Tewell finished the game 10-of-19 for 219 yards and six TDs. He also threw his first interception of the season as he now has a school-record 24 touchdown passes on the season with just one interception. The former record of 21 had been set by Mikovich in the 1980s.

Kelley also tied Jamie Cipalla for the single-game touchdown reception record with three. Jashaun Perry had the longest interception return in school history with a 104-yarder for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Northwestern improved to 7-0 overall and finished the Region 2 season at 6-0. The Wildcats shared the region title with Cochranton, who finished 7-0. The Northwestern-Cochranton head-to-head matchup was canceled earlier in the season because of COVID-19 protocols.

In case anyone is wondering why the game has been moved tonight… Easton is a player from Warren who broke his ankle on our field. And our own Jack Williams also broke his ankle on our field. Back to back injuries - the field is unplayable.

[10/19/21]   Hello everyone.

So it’s already that time. Looking for volunteers THIS Wednesday, 10/20, to put up decorations for Senior Night.

The main item is working on the balloon archway. But… we also need help with the stands, end zone poles, and the entranceway. We will begin working after practice at 6 pm.

I know parents have been working on Senior banners. I’ve seen a few sneak peak pictures and they look GREAT! I think it would be best to put those up on Friday before the game, but if that doesn’t work with your schedule, let me know and we can make arrangements. We have zip ties that work great to fasten them to the fencing.

If anything should change in regards to plans, I will make sure to let you all know!

Thank YOU!

Hope to see you Wednesday at 6pm!
