We spent our first week at Little Ducks getting to know our new routines, exploring our classrooms, playing, creating, learning, and getting comfortable with new friends and teachers. It was so nice to see the kids settling in more each day and already beginning to make our classrooms feel like their own.

There’s always a lot of excitement (and a few big feelings!) during the first week, but our Little Ducks did such a great job. We’re really looking forward to everything this school year will bring.

I worked for 14 hours today on all things Open House and the beginning of the school year! 🍎

To say that I am a very tired but extremely grateful teacher is an understatement. I get to spend my 4th year teaching in a self-created space with the most special people.

Tomorrow marks a fresh start with a bunch of familiar faces and new friends, too!

As we jump into another year at Little Ducks Day School in just a couple short weeks- I wanted to reintroduce myself to those that are just meeting me this year!

I’m Miss Jenna, the proud owner of Little Ducks Day School and lead teacher for our Ducklings, Little Ducks, and Mighty Ducks classes!

This year marks my 13th year teaching and my 4th year as the owner of Little Ducks Day School — and I truly can’t believe how quickly the years have gone by! As a NYS certified teacher, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children in many different settings, but creating Little Ducks has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my teaching career.

I started Little Ducks in 2023 after leaving my public school teaching position. I was looking for a better balance for my growing family while also wanting the freedom to embrace the kind of early childhood education I love most — one filled with creativity, play, exploration, meaningful learning, and lots of opportunities for little ones to simply be little. 🦆

I’m also a very proud mom of four girls, now 15 months, 5, 7, and 8 years old! Being a mom has shaped so much of who I am as a teacher. I know just how much trust it takes to place your child in someone else’s care, especially when it may be their very first school experience. My goal has always been for Little Ducks to feel like a place where children are known, loved, encouraged, and excited to learn.

Four years into this little school of mine, I’m incredibly grateful for how much Little Ducks has grown and for every family who has been a part of it along the way. Seeing familiar faces return year after year and welcoming new families into our Little Ducks community is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’m so excited for another year of learning, creating, playing, growing, and making memories together.
