Albert Lea Community Education

Today the Albert Lea Area Schools Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program picked up books we were awarded by the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) Literacy Grant. Mary Jo Volkman (Parent Educator) and John Double (Director) picked up the 1,025 books that were awarded and we'll be getting them out into our community at a variety of classes and events to positively impact Early Literacy. Thank you to Mary Jo for her leadership in writing the grant and working through the various ways we could promote Early Literacy in our community and programs.

Free fun is coming to Albert Lea! 🧗‍♀️🚣‍♂️☀️

Community Access Days are a chance for families, friends, neighbors, and community members to come together, get active, and enjoy FREE access to the Rock Gym and Boathouse on select Fridays and Saturdays this summer. 🙌

Whether you want to climb to new heights, paddle across Fountain Lake, or try something new with your family, this is a great way to enjoy local recreation at no cost. 🧗‍♂️🌊🚣‍♀️

Preregistration is required for waiver purposes, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Our staff were busy getting ready for an adventure-filled June with Summer Tiger Tails yesterday! ☀️

Our Experiential Education Coordinator, Alex Hagen, trained staff as they prepared to welcome students starting today for a month full of fun, confidence-building, and hands-on learning.

Students will have the opportunity to take part in different Experiential Ed activities, including getting out on the water at the Boathouse and climbing to new heights at the Rock Gym.

We can’t wait to see these kids in action this summer! 🚣‍♀️🧗‍♂️

Knock Out Dance Fitness starts tonight, and we also have a Thursday session starting this week. A few spots are still available!

This class brings together music, movement, and a high-energy workout in a welcoming group setting. No dance experience needed.
