Parent Communication:

Stanly County Schools has worked closely with the Albemarle Police Department throughout the day to ensure the safety of students and staff at Albemarle High School and Stanly STEM Early College. We have been notified that the individual sought by law enforcement has been apprehended in a neighboring county.

We are grateful for the support and professionalism of the Albemarle Police Department and our other law enforcement partners, as well as our administrators, school staff, and district support personnel who worked diligently throughout the day to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Stanly County Schools has worked closely with the Albemarle Police Department throughout the day to ensure the safety of students and staff at Albemarle High School and Stanly STEM Early College. Out of an abundance of caution, students will be dismissed at the regular time under a secure hold, and all athletic events scheduled on campus this evening have been canceled.
The Albemarle Police Department is actively working with other law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend a suspect.

We are grateful for the support and professionalism of our law enforcement partners, administrators, school staff, and district support personnel who have worked diligently throughout the day to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.

You may notice a heightened law-enforcement presence on campus this morning following an unsubstantiated threat that was made. Please know that all is well, and we are continuing through the school day with additional precautions in place.

We are grateful for the extra support from our local law-enforcement partners as we work to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Help us congratulate and celebrate Dr. Snuggs for her awesome accomplishment!

🤖✨ Congratulations, Dr. Chaundra Snuggs!

We are excited to celebrate Dr. Chaundra Snuggs, CTE Teacher at Albemarle High School, on her acceptance into the NCBCE AI Fellows Program!

Dr. Snuggs is one of just 20 middle and high school educators from across North Carolina selected for this statewide initiative, which equips educators to lead the way in ethical and innovative artificial intelligence education.

Through the yearlong fellowship, Dr. Snuggs will participate in professional development, workshops, mentorship and collaboration with educators and innovators from across the state. She will also help expand opportunities for students to engage with AI and prepare for high-demand careers in an increasingly AI-enabled world.

We are proud to have educators like Dr. Snuggs who continue to learn, lead and seek new opportunities that will benefit our students and their futures.

👏 Congratulations, Dr. Snuggs! We can’t wait to see the impact of this exciting opportunity at Albemarle High School and throughout our school community!
