Earlier this week, despite the weather, two seniors from Somers Science Research traveled to Albany to present at the annual SUNY Albany Science Research Invitational. Students from across New York State shared their work with panels of judges in their respective categories - and Somers went 2 for 2!

Anya Khurana earned 2nd place for her research, “Enzymatic Tagging of Immune Cells Post CD27/CD70 Interaction Using LIPSTIC.”

Makaila Eagleton captured 1st place for her research, “Investigating the Stability of Prebiotic Uracil Under the Conditions of Impact-Generated Terrestrial Hydrothermal Systems.”

This prestigious event provided an outstanding opportunity to showcase months of dedication and innovation, and the judges clearly recognized the exceptional quality of their work.

Congratulations to Anya and Makaila on these incredible achievements - we are Somers proud!
