🚚 One of this year’s newest opportunities for Grades 2-4 is My First Food Truck, an engaging hands-on program where students will dream up creative food concepts, design their own brand, and bring big ideas to life through projects inspired by the energy and excitement of real food trucks.

✍️ For many students, the college essay becomes one of the most important and challenging parts of the application process, and not every high school offers dedicated college essay support.

📚 This focused weeklong summer workshop gives rising seniors from across the Capital Region expert guidance, daily feedback, and dedicated writing time before application season begins.

🎓 Led by Mr. Tim Fitzmaurice, Albany Academy English faculty member and head of Albany Academy’s Writing Center, students will strengthen their writing, develop their personal story, and leave with a polished draft ready for submission.

Academy Summer is excited to partner with SPARK Business Academy, a nationally recognized financial literacy program provider that partners with leading independent schools across the country, to bring three innovative, hands-on week-long enrichment programs to the Albany Academy campus this summer.

This summer, we are offering:

🏈 Sports Management (Grades 6-8)
💼 Junior CEOs (Grades 2-4)

Through hands-on simulations, team challenges, and creative problem-solving activities, students will explore how ideas become real-world ventures while building leadership and collaboration skills along the way.

Whether developing a brand, exploring the business of sports, or launching new ideas, students will strengthen communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and financial literacy skills in an environment that encourages innovation and curiosity.

NEW THIS SUMMER — DANCING FOR THE STAGE 💃🎭

Designed for performers looking to grow in confidence, movement, and stage presence, Dancing for the Stage combines dance training with performance-focused instruction in an energetic and supportive setting.

Students will explore Broadway-inspired movement, improve coordination and musicality, strengthen choreography pickup skills, and learn how movement helps tell a story on stage through dynamic combinations and expressive performance work.

Led by Boston Conservatory-trained dance professionals, these programs are perfect if you are looking to strengthen both overall dance training and stage performance skills.

Students may register for either session individually or participate in both programs for a full day of dance and stage performance training.

This summer, campers in our early morning program will start their day with dedicated reading time through independent reading or teacher-led read alouds. 📚

Each camper will receive a Mindful Morning Reading Tracker (pictured!) to help celebrate their progress throughout the summer! Campers will earn stamps each day they complete their reading and work toward filling their tracker week by week. ⭐️

At the end of each week, campers who complete their tracker will earn a special reward! 🎁

Our goal is to:

This summer we are proudly continuing our pop tab collection for ❤️💛

Campers and staff will be collecting aluminum pop tabs from soda cans, soup cans, pet food cans, etc., to help support families with children receiving medical care right here in the capital region.🥫

The tabs might seem like a small gesture, but they make a big impact, providing meals, comfortable beds, and a “home away from home” for families during difficult times.🏡

We love seeing our campers light up when they add to the big collection receptacles!! Their small acts of kindness add up in big ways! ✨

This article about summer camp in the ‘80s and ‘90s really resonated with us, especially the idea that camp remains one of the few places where kids can truly be immersed in real experiences, real friendships, and real independence.

At Academy Summer, we see it every day.

Summer Camp in the ’80s and ’90s Was the Last Great Screen-Free Childhood Experience - AOL Nobody called it a “digital detox” in the 1980s and 1990s. For those kids, camp was a continuation of everyday life, but more concentrated, social, and demanding.

⚽️ Train, compete, and build your game this summer with Academy Summer Soccer Camps! 🥅

Led by Albany Academy JV soccer coach, Matt Woodworth, these camps are designed for students entering grades 5–9 and offer players the chance to sharpen skills, build confidence, and have fun on the field all summer long.

With three different camp weeks available, families can mix and match morning soccer camp with afternoon Academy Summer programs to create a full-day experience. Campers staying for the full day also enjoy lunch on campus with us!
