Passport to Asia fully embraced hands-on learning with a sushi-making class as they traveled through Japan! 🇯🇵

Students watched as their teachers demonstrated how to prepare, fill, and roll sushi — and then it was their turn to give it a try. 🖐️

From carefully spreading the rice and choosing their fillings to mastering the roll (with a little help along the way!), our students got to experience the process from start to finish. 🍚

And, of course, the best part came last: eating what they made! 🍱🥢🍣

Our first-ever My First Food Truck program for Grades 2–4 was a HUGE hit! Brought to us by Spark Business Academy, this hands-on experience turned financial literacy into an afternoon full of creativity, teamwork, and so much fun.

Campers dreamed up their food truck concept, decided what to sell, created menus, designed their trucks, and even built 3-D food trucks!

Then came the business side - learning how to collect money, count money, and think like a real entrepreneur.

From the first big idea to the finished food truck, campers were creating, building, learning, and having a blast along the way.💰💵

Last week was full of color, creativity, and a whole lot of fun!

Our campers made their own tie-dye shirts, watched their designs come to life, and then proudly showed them off. 🎨

Summer Was Made for the pool! 🏊‍♀️💦

Seven weeks of swimming made for an incredible summer in the Academy pool!

This summer, Academy Summer offered eight separate half-day swim camps plus six weeks of morning swim instruction for students in our Grades 1-8 full day enrichment programs.
Whether they were learning the basics, building confidence, refining their technique, or just enjoying time in the water, everyone had the opportunity to grow and have fun all summer long!

Our campers learned from two outstanding coaches: Coach Murray, Albany Academy’s swimming coach, and Coach Sorrentino, RPI assistant coach and our Academy Summer swim coach. Together with our lifeguards, they created a pool environment where students could learn, challenge themselves, build confidence, and most importantly, enjoy swimming!

🎮 Game on!

Last week, Academy Summer’s STEM Academy students dove into the world of game design with Mr. Munschenk, Albany Academy Middle School STEM teacher.

In the morning, Game Design: Principles introduced students to coding and game design. In the afternoon, Game Design: Jam gave them the chance to put their ideas into action and create their own fun games.

We wrapped up with a showcase where students shared what they had built with family and friends. 💻🎮

✨ Take a bow, Dance for the Stage! ✨

Our first-ever dance camp spent the week practicing, creating, collaborating, and bringing their ideas to life. By Friday, they were ready to shine with one big group number and three camper-choreographed dances! 🌟

Families and friends filled the audience and cheered them on as our dancers proudly took the stage. What a way to launch Dance for the Stage! 🧑‍🩰

Our Passport to Asia travelers are off on another adventure! 🌏✈️

Yesterday, our K–2 campers “traveled” to India! 🇮🇳 They learned about the magnificent Taj Mahal, explored Indian culture and traditions, and experienced the beautiful art of henna with their own temporary designs. 🕌✨

They also got creative, painting colorful mini umbrellas inspired by the beautiful umbrellas found throughout Asian cultures. 🎨☂️

From making dumplings in China to exploring India, every day brings a new destination, new discoveries, and plenty of hands-on fun!

Our Passport to Asia travelers are on the move! 🌏✈️

Each day, our K–2 campers “travel” to a new destination, discovering the culture, traditions, food, and fun of different countries across Asia. Yesterday’s stop? 🇨🇳 China!

The best part of the journey was getting hands-on in the kitchen and making dumplings from scratch!

🥟 From learning about Chinese culture to folding and enjoying their own creations, our campers are discovering that the best adventures are the ones you can taste, touch, and experience together.

🎤 Jr. TED Talks: Confidence in the Spotlight

This past week, our Junior TED Talks students took the stage to share well-researched, engaging presentations on topics they were passionate about. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, and everyone in the audience learned many new things - from the WNBA, to cars, to fear and AI!

We're proud of the confidence these students built, the knowledge they brought to life; a fantastic showcase of passion, knowledge and delivery.👏
