🎉 Congratulations to Terry on his FIRST SOLO! 🎉

Terry started training with us to stay current on our one-G simulation AATD simulator while his airplane is being repaired - he didn't want to lose momentum. Now he's accomplished his solo flight and is well underway to going beyond just keeping his currency!

Terry is always on time, committed, and ready to learn, and it is our honor to help him achieve his goal. Great work, Terry, and thank you to CFI Taylor for getting him there! 👏

Please join us in congratulating Peyton - Oregon Aero Academy's newest PRIVATE PILOT! ✈️

Peyton passed her Private Pilot checkride and is holding the proof right there next to N3824S. Getting to this point takes real commitment - studying when you'd rather be sleeping, flying when the weather finally cooperates, and showing up again and again. Peyton did all of it, and her perseverance paid off in a big way.

A big tip of the wing to her instructor, CFI Taylor, who continues to do an outstanding job guiding his students across the finish line. Our CFI Taylor is taking names!

Peyton's name is headed for our Wall of Accomplishment, where it belongs. We could not be more proud.

CFII complete! 🎉 Congratulations to Ben!

Ben came to us as a student and has been with us the whole way: Private Pilot, Commercial (CSEL), CFI, and now his CFII. Along the way he joined our team teaching in our Eugene location, and we couldn't be prouder to have him.

What's next? Multi-Engine and MEI. We can't wait to see it!

🎉 Wall of Accomplishment update: say congrats to Etienne! 🎉

Etienne arrived at our Eugene location with about 1,000 hours already in his logbook, looking to add his Multi-Engine Instructor rating and open up new opportunities in aviation. Working with our Chief Flight Instructor Taka, Etienne — already a working CFII — knocked out his MEI training in just 10 days, weather cancellations and all!

Motivated students make it happen, and Etienne is proof. We're so proud to call him a Oregon Aero Academy grad.

✈️ Another name on the Wall of Accomplishment! ✈️

Congratulations to Eli on earning his Instrument Rating! Eli transferred to Oregon Aero Academy with over 90 hours and hadn't yet soloed — but he brought the dedication, and we brought the plan. Since then he's earned his Private Pilot certificate and now his Instrument Rating.

Eli isn't slowing down — he's headed into our Commercial Pilot program next, time-building to 200 hours while working through our 1-on-1 ground school, with a checkride goal at 250 hours. We can't wait to watch him keep going.

Please join us in congratulating Max on his FIRST SOLO! ✈️

Max enrolled in our Full-Time Accelerated Program and has been moving fast ever since. He passed his stage one check and then took N4409R around the pattern all by himself — that first flight where the right seat is empty and the airplane is entirely yours. There's nothing else like it.

He's already looking ahead: Private Pilot checkride should be scheduled for October, followed by Instrument Rating, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and ultimately CFI. That's a full career path, and Max is knocking it down one milestone at a time.

A big thank-you to CFI Taylor for getting him ready for the big day. Max, your name is on the Wall of Accomplishment — we can't wait to add the next one.

We're excited to share that Oregon Aero Academy has received SEVP certification, allowing us to enroll international students under the M-1 (vocational student) visa. Our Part 141 programs — Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot — are now open to qualified students worldwide.

**Balloons at dawn, Young Eagles at noon, and tacos in between. 🎈✈️🌮**

The 2026 Northwest Art & Air Festival is in full swing in Albany, and the view from the ramp at S12 has been hard to beat. Hot air balloons lifted off at first light and drifted right over the flight line while the airplanes were still tied down — one of those mornings you don't forget.

The best part of the day belonged to the kids. Young Eagles flights were hosted by EAA Chapter 1457, with pilots and volunteers from EAA Chapter 1457 and EAA 292 giving young people ages 8–17 their very first flight in a general aviation airplane — completely free. A huge thank you to every pilot who flew, every volunteer who worked the ramp, and every parent who got their kid out of bed early for it. Somewhere in that group is a future airline captain.

And then there was the food. 🌮 in Albany, Corvallis and Bend put out a full street taco spread — carne asada, chicken and chorizo, with beans, rice, onions, cilantro, lime, pico de gallo and a green salsa that deserves its own post. Outstanding, all of it.

Thank you to the Northwest Art & Air Festival and the City of Albany, Oregon for putting on one of the best weekends of the year in the valley. The festival runs through Sunday at Timber Linn Park — go catch a morning launch if you can.

🎉 PRIVATE PILOT — Curtis! 🎉

After acing his oral exam last week, Curtis finished the job and earned his Private Pilot certificate. And he's just getting warmed up — his plan is to keep going all the way to CFI.

Congratulations, Curtis! And a big thank you to CFI Brad for the outstanding instruction that got him here.
