The National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) has been evaluating training and education programs offered outside of the traditional college classroom setting and translating them into college credit equivalencies since 1973.

NCCRS extends its appreciation to Deputy Chief Kevin Ramdayal for his leadership and guidance during this week’s on-site review of FDNY EMS training programs.

Thanks to his extensive experience, deep knowledge of EMS education, and commitment to excellence, several EMT and Paramedic courses received significant increases in credit recommendations. His expertise continues to be an invaluable asset to FDNY and its training initiatives.

Today, NCCRS conducted a successful evaluation visit for the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) at the Fort Totten EMS Training Academy.

Coordinated by NCCRS Assistant Director Nancy Szakats, the review featured presentations by FDNY personnel highlighting a range of leadership, instructional, and emergency service training programs for the benefit of the evaluation team.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to a productive day of collaboration and academic quality review.

Since joining NCCRS in June 2021, LawShelf has continued its mission of making legal education accessible, engaging, and effective for students, professionals, and the public alike. 5-8-26 Partnership with City Year for CPL - SUNY 05/13/2026

City Year, a new NCCRS member organization, formally announced at their annual gala in Buffalo on Friday, that their 1,200- and 1,700-hour service programs have received credit recommendations from NCCRS.

City Year is an education-focused nonprofit organization, part of the AmeriCorps national service network. Its members, young adults aged 18-25, serve as student success coaches in high-need public schools, providing tutoring, mentorship, and classroom support.
