Congratulations to KIPPster Elijah for receiving the National Grid Electric Worker Scholarship! πŸŽ‰

This scholarship assists students pursuing education at Hudson Valley Community College during the 2026-27 academic year in programs in the electric field. We're so proud of Elijah for this remarkable accomplishment and can't wait to see him come into his future success.

With the support of our KIPP Forward team, our KIPPsters are creating the future lives they want to live - one goal at a time.

The KIPP Five are easy to spot in a KIPP Capital Region school.

A student raises their hand anyway.

The class celebrates when someone gets it.

KIPPsters collaborating in class.

A group keeps going, even when faced with challenging work.

These are hallmark moments at KIPP - defined by academic rigor and joy. 🧠 ✨

KIPP Capital Region is excited to welcome Kristen Kent as the new Chief Schools Officer!

As Chief Schools Officer, Kristen will partner closely with our school leaders to strengthen instructional excellence, develop outstanding educators, and create the conditions for every student to thrive.

Kristen joins KIPP Capital Region with more than a decade of experience leading transformational work across public charter schools dedicated to growing from classroom into executive leadership while serving students across elementary, middle, and high schools while remaining committed to ensuring every student has access to a high quality education.

Kristen's leadership is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: where a child is born or the circumstances they grow up in should never determine the quality of education they receive. That conviction has guided every step of her career and aligns deeply with KIPP Capital Region's commitment to educational opportunity and excellence.
A graduate of Howard University, Kristen earned a B.S. in Human Development and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education. She brings leadership experience from IDEA Public Schools, DC Public Schools, Achievement First, and Noble Schools, where she has led school improvement, developed leaders, and driven strong student outcomes across elementary, middle, and high schools.

We're thrilled to welcome Kristen to the KIPP Capital Region Team & Family and look forward to the impact her leadership will have on our students, families, and communities.

Please join us in giving Kristen a warm KIPP Capital Region welcome!

What defines KIPP Public Schools? It's the beliefs and commitments that shape our schools, our communities that shape our schools, our communities, and the experience we want every student to have. We call them The KIPP Five.

The KIPP Five reflect what KIPP has always believed: that every child has extraordinary potential, and that schools should be places where students are challenged, supported, known, and inspired to lead bold futures.
