100 years ago today, the 19th Amendment was ratified, a huge milestone for women. However, Black, Latina, Asian and Indigenous women were disenfranchised for years after. Attached is a link to a project by the Radcliffe Institute that dives into this history.

"Thanks to the efforts of many people at the law school, especially Lisa Suto, Albany Law School is the location of the American Bar Association Standing Committee on the Law Library of Congress’s 100 Years After the 19th Amendment: Their Legacy, and our Future traveling display. The display consists of six banners, which will be located in the library until March 31, 2020. This is not an ideal time to have a display, but we will do our best to honor the Women’s Suffrage Movement this Women’s History Month.
As such, tomorrow, March 20, 2020, at 11:30 am, we will display the banners remotely via Zoom. Professor Mary Lynch will speak briefly on Kate Stoneman and her work with the Women’s Suffrage Movement. We will then keep Zoom open for participants to question, comment, and just chat. I hope you can join us.
