We are incredibly grateful to the Frederick McDonald Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, for choosing New Beginnings Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter as the recipient of a $5,000 grant. These funds will help us provide essential basic-needs items for the young people served by New Beginnings, including hygiene and personal care items and other necessities that help make their stay safe, comfortable and supportive.

For youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability, having access to everyday essentials can provide a sense of dignity, stability and care during an incredibly challenging time. While New Beginnings provides a safe place to stay and supportive services, meeting these basic needs is an important part of helping young people feel secure and cared for.

Thank you to the Frederick McDonald Trust for investing in the young people we serve and helping ensure that when they turn to New Beginnings, they have the essentials they need and a safe place to turn.

A little sneak peek at what’s coming to the Fedullo-Catena Classic!
Our Silent Auction will officially go LIVE on Thursday, September 17th, and we’re excited to share a few of the great items that will be available for bidding.

A heartfelt thank you to Stewart's Shops and the Dake Family for their generous donation supporting community outings and field trips for the youth at St. Anne Institute.

Your generosity helps provide our youth with important normative experiences that many young people may take for granted. Whether it’s enjoying a local attraction, trying something new, spending time with friends, or simply getting out into the community, these experiences give our youth opportunities to have fun, build confidence, create positive memories, and simply enjoy being kids.

We are grateful to Stewart’s Shops and the Dake Family for helping make these experiences possible and for their continued commitment to supporting the young people in our community!

As we continue moving closer to the Fedullo-Catena Golf Classic on Monday, September 28, we want to highlight another important program supported by proceeds from the tournament: St. Anne Institute’s Education Program.

Our Regents-accredited, 853 private special education school serves students in grades 7-12, including up to 30 residential students and 20 students receiving day treatment services. Our school is designed to meet students where they are, providing individualized academic instruction along with the emotional and behavioral support they need to learn, grow and succeed.

With Individualized Education Plans guiding each student’s education, our small classrooms are limited to no more than six students with one teacher and one teaching assistant. This allows our educators to build meaningful relationships with students, understand their individual needs and provide the attention and support they deserve.

For some of our students, success in school takes more than a traditional classroom can provide. At St. Anne, we create an environment where students can feel supported, build confidence and discover that they are capable of more than they may have believed.

As we look ahead to the annual Fedullo-Catena Golf Classic on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Mohawk Golf Club in Schenectady, we want to share a glimpse of what your support of this event makes possible.

One year ago today, we opened the doors to The Beacon Crisis Residence. Licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, The Beacon provides up to 28 days of support and stabilization services to youth ages 12-17 experiencing a mental health crisis.

Since opening its doors, The Beacon has served 60 youth, providing a safe and supportive place during some of their most difficult moments. The program helps youth develop coping skills that increase feelings of safety and independence while working with families to create safety plans and strategies that support a successful return home.

For many youth and families, The Beacon has truly been the beacon they needed during some of life's most challenging moments.

We are incredibly grateful to Honest Weight Food Co-op for recognizing St. Anne Institute as part of their 30K Giveaway initiative and choosing to support New Beginnings Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter. We were honored to be one of 44 local organizations selected to receive support through the giveaway.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that St. Anne Institute was nominated by members of our community. Knowing that the work of New Beginnings is being seen and valued by the community we strive to support means so much to our team.

Through New Beginnings, young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability have a safe place to stay, supportive services and connections to resources that can help them move toward a more stable future.

Thank you to the community members who took the time to nominate St. Anne Institute and to Honest Weight Food Co-op for recognizing that nomination and supporting the young people we serve. We are grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply about its youth.

Yesterday, our Blue Heart Committee gave staff a chance to slow down, enjoy a beautiful summer morning and have a little fun with Breakfast By the Pool!

Staff enjoyed breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, iced coffee and juice while spending some time together poolside.

It was a simple way to celebrate the people who make St. Anne Institute such a special place. We hope everyone enjoyed the food, the sunshine and, most of all, a little time to relax and connect with one another.

A big thank you to our Blue Heart Committee for creating such a fun morning, and to all of our staff for the care, dedication and heart you bring to St. Anne Institute every day. We appreciate all that you do!
