Eagle Point Elementary School
The mission of the CSDA is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship a Our school is PreK-6th grade.
The former Public School 27 was remodeled in 2005 as part of the City School District of Albany's sweeping plan to renovate or rebuild every elementary school. When the building reopened in January 2006, we were christened Eagle Point Elementary School in honor of our location near the highest point in the City of Albany. Our science lab was feeling lucky!
During a lesson led by Kevin Retell, kindergarten and first grade learned how everything – and everyone – is unique. The work was connected to clovers which have a 1 in 5000 chance of bearing four leaves and that’s why they are such a special find.
Following the lesson, students enjoyed St. Patrick’s Day-themed art and delicious shamrock shakes!

Eagle Point Elementary School students took some time to celebrate the Lunar New Year!
Along with learning the differences between Chinese New Year and other Lunar New Year customs, students welcomed the Year of the Fire Horse. The celebration was brought to life with a beautiful Tibetan dance, music and a high-energy dragon performance.

What an inspiring day!
Students from all grade levels welcomed distinguished guests who shared their skills and experiences - from training and education to skills and professional pathways - during our annual Black History Month Career Day.
The local professionals represented law enforcement, the arts, culinary, media, education, trades, entrepreneurs and more!
We want to send a huge thank you to our visitors for taking the time to motivate future movers and shakers in the 518 (and beyond)!

Someone call HarperCollins and Little Brown – we’ve got some future authors and illustrators!
Karla Matos’ class threw a publishing party on Tuesday. Students showed off their work and then celebrated their achievements with hot chocolate, popcorn and candy canes.
We look forward to reading more from these talented ELA students in 2026!
