Today is the deadline to complete this survey!

Transportation is a key factor in planning for a strong start for the 2020-2021 school year. To assist in planning we need to gather information regarding student transportation.

**In order to reduce the number of students on the bus, parents are encouraged to drive their children to school, when possible.**

***Please complete the survey for each child attending Livingston Parish Public Schools.***

Survey Deadline - July 14th

Please complete this important survey. It will provide us critical information as we plan for the start of school.

[07/07/20]   Albany parents and community --

We wanted to inform you that the administration at all four Albany schools have been an active part of the process on the COVID Committee that is meeting to create a plan for the approaching opening of the 2020-2021 school year. This is a group effort that is reviewing the continuously updated guidance from the Louisiana State Department of Education, BESE Board, Louisiana Department of Health and the Governor’s Office. We appreciate your continued support and patience with us, as we continue to prepare to offer the safest and most effective educational opportunities possible, for our students while meeting the guidelines suggested moving forward. Please keep in mind that these things are subject to change, but wanted to summarize a few basic ideas we have in mind.

The specifics of each are not completely finalized, but this will give you an idea of what each phase could look like.

Phase 1 – Students will receive virtual instruction with continuing online communication from their teachers.

Phase 2 – Students will be placed into two groups (planning to have all siblings attending on the same days) that will physically attend school, at least two days per week while their other learning will take place through an online platform with continuing online communication from their teachers. This will limit the number of students on campus to meet the established guidelines and restrictions that are in place.

Phase 3 – Students will be able to return to campus, five days per week while meeting the guidelines and restrictions that are in place.

Many other specifics are being discussed and will be made available to you when the committee has finalized plans after receiving further guidance from the Governor and the other departments. We will screen every person that enters each campus according to the guidelines we are given to follow at that time. We will practice good hygiene on our campuses and will follow social distancing and other guidelines to the greatest extent possible. Please complete all surveys from the district and our schools as accurately as possible, so we can plan to properly meet the needs of our students and the Albany community.

The faculty and staff on our campuses have been participating in various training opportunities to prepare them to provide a productive and effective online learning environment for all students during this time of transition. In this time of uncertainty, please rest assured that we will provide the resources needed for our students and their families to achieve the same type of success that we have become accustomed to in our community.
