This past week, several CSTEP students and former UASRP scholars attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Students in Pittsburgh, PA, where they presented research projects they conducted over the summer or throughout their academic journeys. The conference offered these students incredible opportunities to network with like minded peers, scientists, researchers, doctors, and representatives from various graduate programs across the country.

A huge congratulations goes to Sydney Hanson, who was the only student to win the oral presentation award in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology category—an outstanding and well-deserved achievement!

CSTEP is incredibly proud of the hard work, determination, perseverance, and curiosity that each of these students has devoted to their research. Their commitment and passion shone brightly throughout the event.

Keep dreaming big and aiming for the stars—you are all exactly where you belong! CSTEP is excited to see the amazing futures ahead for each of you!

Over the past 8 weeks, we have had the pleasure of hosting and mentoring 38 scholars who participated in STEM research. Their dedication and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring. We’ve seen remarkable growth in their skills and knowledge, as they tackled complex projects with determination. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and progress they have made. It has been a true privilege to witness and support their journey in STEM. Congratulations to all scholars on completing UASRP!!

This week, four of our UASRP graduates attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS). Here, they were able to connect with professionals established in their STEM careers, speak to over 500+ universities providing summer research internships and information for MD, MD/PhD, & PhD programs, AND go participate in a phenomenal STEM enrichment activity, the Grand Canyon!! We are immensely proud of you four for your hard work and dedication to your research. We can’t wait to see the changes you bring about in the health care industry.
