FREE Public Screening of FRAME BY FRAME

This unique free event will take place at the University at Albany East Campus, in the School of Public Health (One University Place, Rensselaer, NY 12144) Auditorium. Following the screening, a discussion will take place featuring those from or experience with the country of Afghanistan.

Please join the International Center of the Capital Region and the Center for Global Health, with the generous support of the Office of International Education and the Global Institute for Health and Human Rights for a FREE public screening of the Oscar Nominated Documentary, FRAME BY FRAME.

This screening should not be missed. Synopsis:
When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, taking a photo was a crime. After the regime fell from power in 2001, a fledgling free press emerged and a photography revolution was born. Now, as foreign troops and media withdraw, Afghanistan is left to stand on its own, and so are its journalists. Set in a modern Afghanistan bursting with color and character, FRAME BY FRAME follows four Afghan photojournalists as they navigate an emerging and dangerous media landscape – reframing Afghanistan for the world, and for themselves. Through cinema vérité, intimate interviews, powerful photojournalism, and never-before-seen archival footage shot in secret during the Taliban regime, the film connects audiences with four humans in the pursuit of the truth.

Promoting learning and sharing best practices among Kenya’s 47 county governments and the general public is a key mandate of the Council of Governors (COG). Since its inception in 2013, the COG has transformed itself from a new institution to one at the frontlines of monitoring devolution implementation.
