To officially wrap up an amazing College and Career Week, a group of our brilliant fifth graders had the unique opportunity to shadow staff members across the entire building!

Our young leaders got a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the life of our teachers, principal, assistant principal, and home-school & community school coordinator. We are so proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm, and we want to give a huge shout-out to all the staff who welcomed them with open arms!

As part of College and Career Week, students welcomed Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York to learn essential financial literacy skills.

Students at Sheridan Prep have been participating in College and Career Week! Over the past two days, we’ve hosted special guest speakers who shared insights into their unique career paths and how they achieved success. Our students heard from a diverse group of professionals, including nurses, firefighters, an Army recruiter, state troopers, and a graphic designer, among others.

A huge thank you to our community partners, district staff, and parents who volunteered their time to inspire our students!

The City School District of Albany's Board of Education has appointed Amelia Gallagher as the new assistant principal at Sheridan Preparatory Academy.

Gallagher will begin June 1 and will take over for Alexander Santana, who was promoted earlier this year to serve as the district's elementary instructional supervisor for science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM.

Gallagher currently serves as an assistant principal at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School. She has been in that role since 2021.
